Cartoon Animation

The process of arranging the different cartoons in an order and hence organizing them in a sequential movement is referred to as cartoon animation. Cartoon animation is nowadays popularly used in the entertainment industry and specifically in the film industry. Cartoon animation has emerged as a result of the use of special effects technology. Now these cartoon animation are presented in the film industry as the animation movies.

The characters in the movie are designed by the cartoonists with the specific expressions and then after the designing of the cartoon characters the animator animates it by using certain animation software tools. Cartoon animation is basically an arrangement of the cartoon pictures that exhibit the humorous element based on a particular story or concept. Cartoon animation does not require an essentiality to use the voice element in the movie. According to the requirement in the movie, one can decide whether to use the voice element or not.

There are two categories of cartoon animation. One of the cartoon animations includes two dimensional cartoon animation and the other one is the three dimensional cartoon animation.

In case of the two dimensional cartoon animation, graphics are sketched on paper or else on the computer screen using the 2D bitmap or the 2D vector graphics. The graphics concerned with the two dimensional view are drawn on the X and Y coordinate and there must be used the recent computer technologies, such as twining, morphing, etc. Software tools that are used to create the two dimensional cartoon animation include the Macromedia Flash, PowerPoint, etc.

As far as the 3D cartoon animation is concerned, the characters, shapes and objects are created on the computer using the polygon facility. The 3D representation of the data is stored in the computer so that it may provide the calculation facility and also in order to render the 2D and the 3D graphics that ultimately rely on the algorithms such as the 2D vector graphics. The examples of the 3D cartoon animation include skeletal animation, 3D cartoon shows, etc.
